Getting a Mold for Rotational Molding
Molds for Rotational Molding are hollow metal objects that split or separate to allow the finished part to be removed.  The molds may be fabricated, cast or machined.  The most common materials of construction are stainless steel and carbon steel for fabricated molds and aluminum for cast or machined molds.
Fabricated molds are less expensive than cast or machined molds.  They are usually used for larger or simpler shapes when special suface finishes are not required.
Cast and machined molds give more precise tolerances for the dimensions. There are a great variety of finishes that can be applied to cast molds including very high gloss or even wood grain.
